About
A photographer / artist based in South East London.
I developed a keen interest in photography as a teenager and went on to study BTEC Fine Art at West Heart College Watford in 2004.
Part of the course covered Black and White film photography, where I learned how to develop my own prints using the dark room.
In 2006 I was given a Cannon bridge film camera followed by a compact digital camera in 2009. After this my life got very busy with other commitments and my interest faded somewhat, into the background.
A few years later Covid hit and we entered into lock down . In the course of time I went for a walk in my local park, I started noticing different types of flowers and my passion was reawakened by their simple beauty. Ideas started flowing again and I began clicking away, using my iPhone 6 camera. Everywhere I went I captured textures, flowers, trees, people, shapes and light in a way that often goes unnoticed.
I went on to buy a secondhand DSLR mirrorless 21.1 Samsung NX1100, in 2021. I enrolled on an NCFE course at Sutton College to learn how to use my camera manually and went on to purchase a Samsung NX500 camera in 2023. Since then I have not been able to stop capturing special moments.
My specialty is artistic photography, this allows the subject, along with myself, the most freedom.
I work to create a piece of art that is not restricted to specific guidelines or rules. I have come to appreciate photography as a visual form of art. Whereas some like to focus on complex compositions and layers, others, such as myself, prefer to experiment with my photography allowing myself the freedom to be creative.
I specialize in a wide scope of areas including portraits, landscapes, nature, abstract and street photography to mention a few. I carry my camera with me practically everywhere I go, whatever my eye captures I click that button.
